Johanne served for several years as a cabinet member for Quebec’s Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Ministry. Her developed her practice in the areas of drafting by-laws, legal opinions and different types of procedures in all areas of municipal law, including expropriation. She is also certified as a civil and commercial mediator.
She is regularly invited to facilitate workshops for local, provincial and regional organizations, including the ADMQ, FQM, COMAQ, Table des M.R.C. de l’Estrie, COMBEQ and AARQ. She also gives conferences and has published several texts for the Barreau du Québec with regard to seminars on recent developments in municipal law.
Her expertise in municipal law has led her to sit on or serve as a contact person for various committees, including the municipal watercourse by-laws revision committee, the Quebec Bar committee on environmental law and the Quebec Bar liaison committee on farmland protection.
Johanne is known for her analyitical skills and explain complex concepts and to find practical solutions that usually avoid litigation and that take into account the particular context of municipal work.
