A Montréal lawyer, Douglas represents national and international clients across a broad range of services related to corporate law, mergers and acquisitions including complex contract negotiations, technology licensing and product distribution both in Canada and abroad. He frequently acts as lead counsel, coordinating the work of multiple firms to meet the needs of his clients at the national level.
Douglas regularly advises businesses and shareholders on strategic matters, particularly during acquisition or buyout negotiations, and in resolving shareholder disputes. A bilingual lawyer, he is valued for his calm demeanour and practical advice.
Drawing on his broad international experience, Douglas oversees the firm’s relationship with the USLAW NETWORK, a leading global legal network of which the firm is a member, leveraging it to serve our clients outside Quebec.
Douglas has served on the Executive Committee of USLAW NETWORK since 2023 and has been a member of its Board of Directors since 2018. He is also a member of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association.
Additionally, he sits on the Board of Directors of Groupe GTCJ Inc., the majority shareholder of Therrien Couture Joli-Cœur L.L.P., and is the former Vice President and a Board Member of Edilex, a legal technology company that develops tools to automate legal drafting and public procurement.
Douglas also serves his community as a Board Member and Secretary of the International de montgolfières de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, which oversees the second-largest hot air balloon festival in North America.
