Legal Assistant
A lawyer in Montreal, Pierre-Stéphane practises primarily in professional and general liability insurance, as well as construction law.
A seasoned litigator, Pierre-Stéphane represents a broad local, national and international clientele in disputes before all levels of Quebec courts, including the Court of Appeal, as well as in arbitration proceedings. In construction law matters, he advises contractors and owners at every stage of a project, from contract negotiation and drafting to project completion. He has developed particular expertise in construction claims and, in this capacity, provides strategic advice to clients throughout the life cycle of their projects. In insurance law, he represents both insurers and subrogated parties, particularly in matters involving professional liability insurance and all forms of construction-related insurance, including builder’s risk insurance, commercial general liability insurance and surety bonds. He also acts as defence counsel for the Fonds d’assurance de l’Ordre des architectes du Québec.
Over the course of his career, Pierre-Stéphane has handled a wide range of major disputes in both insurance and construction law. Having represented work providers, professionals, as well as contractors and specialized subcontractors, he has developed a thorough understanding of the issues facing each stakeholder in a project.
His training as a certified mediator provides him with additional tools to identify optimal solutions when representing clients in private dispute prevention and resolution processes, including settlement conferences.
With more than 30 years of experience, Pierre-Stéphane is valued for his ability to synthesize information and his fine negotiating skills.
