Legal assistant
A lawyer in Laval, Julie practises primarily in civil litigation, with a particular focus on construction law, bankruptcy and civil liability. She mainly represents construction contractors and assists them throughout public tendering processes, contract negotiations, the management of potential issues during construction projects and any resulting claims.
As a construction law specialist, she is consulted on a wide range of issues that may arise at every stage of a project, from the call for tenders or pre-contractual phase through to project completion. She also represents clients in litigation, including claims brought by unsuccessful bidders, claims for unpaid contract balances, additional costs and construction delays, as well as any other construction-related claims.
She also handles disputes involving the Bureau des soumissions déposées du Québec (BSDQ), as well as various construction-related bonds and insurance matters. In addition, she defends the interests of clients facing a contracting party that has sought protection under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act or the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act.
In addition to attending various training programs, Julie continues to develop her expertise in construction law, notably through the many conferences she has prepared and presented over the years.
She is recognized for her ability to synthesize complex issues and to develop strategies tailored to each dispute, as well as for her personalized approach to effectively meeting her clients’ needs.
Julie is appreciated for her extensive knowledge in her field and her experience.
