Legal Assistant
A lawyer in Laval, Pierre primarily practises in civil and commercial litigation, as well as succession law, insurance law, labour law and civil liability. Before joining TCJ, Pierre spent more than 25 years working in a private law firm he founded. He provided a full range of legal services to a clientele composed of individuals and small and large businesses.
In this capacity, Pierre advises and represents a diverse clientele facing complex contentious issues. A seasoned and experienced litigator, he readily assesses the merits of alternative dispute resolution methods such as negotiation, mediation, arbitration and collaborative law, which allow parties to resolve conflicts without resorting to the courts.
Guided by the principle of proportionality between the chosen means of proof and the objectives pursued, he strives to identify winning strategies that are consistent with his clients’ rights, principles and values. A member of the Board of Directors of the Groupe de droit collaboratif du Québec (GDCQ), Pierre is actively involved in promoting the group’s work and in training new members in civil and commercial matters.
His experience regularly leads him to issue legal opinions and to appear before administrative tribunals, the Court of Quebec, the Superior Court and the Court of Appeal.
