2026 Appointments | New Partners and Shareholders

Therrien Couture Joli-Cœur and Groupe TCJ Inc. announce the appointment of eight new partners and shareholders, effective January 1, 2026.

This important milestone reflects the firm’s continued growth and its commitment to excellence, innovation and the sustainable development of its organization.

Following a rigorous selection process and upon the recommendation of the nomination committee, these individuals successfully completed each stage of a particularly demanding journey. Their appointment highlights their ongoing dedication, strong leadership and remarkable contribution to the firm.

About the New Partners and/or Shareholders

Marie-Eve Pomerleau: Laval

A lawyer since 2014, Marie-Eve is part of the Business, Commercial and Corporate Law team. She is known for her expertise in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, as well as transactional and commercial law. With nine years of hands-on experience as a paralegal, she excels in negotiating and drafting complex transactions. Highly appreciated for her thoroughness, pragmatism and keen attention to detail, she also contributes to the governance of organizations such as the Alzheimer Society of Montreal.

Alexandra Davenzo: Laval

A lawyer since 2015, Alexandra is part of the Business, Commercial and Corporate Law team. She focuses primarily on transactional matters and counsels her clients in purchase and sale transactions, as well as in negotiating and drafting a wide range of commercial contracts. With solid experience at the Land Registry, she also excels in real estate law, particularly in lease and land title management. She is recognized for her dedication, integrity and efficiency.

Julien Sapinho: Montréal

A lawyer since 2018, Julien specializes in real estate law, civil litigation and commercial law, advising clients with diligence and determination. He is recognized for his ability to effectively defend the interests of individuals and businesses before judicial bodies while offering strategic solutions adapted to complex issues.

Clémence Therrien: Saint-Hyacinthe

A lawyer since 2018, Clémence is part of the Business, Commercial and Corporate Law team. She focuses her practice on transactional law and supports entrepreneurs—from start-ups to large pan-Canadian businesses—in projects involving business sales, acquisitions, reorganizations, and mergers and acquisitions.

Before joining TCJ, Clémence practised at an international law firm, an experience that continues to enrich her professional outlook. Known for her sharp mind, intellectual rigour and business acumen, she provides legal solutions tailored to the entrepreneurial realities of her clients.

Karine Doucet: Sherbrooke

A notary since 2013, Karine practises in business law, particularly in financing, asset acquisitions and corporate mergers requiring notarized acts, as well as in estate planning and the creation of family trusts.

She is known for her professionalism, attention to detail and ability to provide innovative solutions.

Geneviève Gagné: Québec

A lawyer since 2004, Geneviève practises in international trade, supporting businesses in developing foreign markets and in negotiating and drafting commercial contracts. A polyglot (French, English, German, Italian and Spanish), she also acts as a facilitator during trade missions and represents the firm abroad, combining a practical approach with a strong legal mind.

Antoine Motulsky Falardeau: Québec

A lawyer since 2003, Antoine is part of the Litigation team and practises in various areas of civil and commercial law. A specialist in contracts, arbitration and private international law, he is an accredited commercial arbitrator and handles complex matters in both French and English. A lecturer at Université Laval and the École du Barreau, he teaches civil procedure, evidence and arbitration. Highly involved in the profession, he serves on several strategic committees of the Barreau du Québec, including those regarding civil procedure reform, as well as on various academic bodies. Recipient of the Henri Capitant Award for his work on the enforcement of foreign arbitral awards, his writings have been cited by the Court of Appeal of Quebec.

Jean-Pierre Sergerie: Brossard

Chief Financial Officer, Jean-Pierre has been a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec since 2008. He plays a key role in the governance and financial management of the organization, contributing to its rigour, stability and long-term development.
